My goal is to integrate both current and forgotten practices with the latest technologies available. The environmental variables that impact a crop’s growth are fully considered when designing a consulting plan for your ranch, farm, or other agricultural enterprise. In this way, I can address specific issues of concern to you or take a wider view for an overall plan.

Your consulting needs can be a single consultation or met on a continuing basis. I am happy to discuss your situation and create a unique plan to meet your needs. Through this, I can customize evaluations and monitoring as needed using soil and plant analysis, water monitoring equipment, and drone technologies.

Consulting is available for:

• Complete fertility evaluation and ongoing management — I start with soil and plant tissue analysis and use subsequent analysis to follow progress and response to treatments. I will make economically sensible recommendations to correct any problems as well as to build a healthy, resilient crop.  I will offer suggestions for building a flourishing soil microflora and making nutrients available to the plant with conventional and organic amendments.
• Soil chemistry evaluation and recommendations — Some current practices are creating acidic or microbe-unfriendly environments.  Certain tillage practices can create a hard pan plane that effectively diminishes root zones.  I can evaluate your soils and offer solutions.
• Nitrogen management — Nitrogen management is becoming a hot button issue.  There is a growing concern about the overflow of agricultural nitrogen into public waterways.  In some states there are required nitrogen plans to be filed with local or state governments.    Tailoring nitrogen applications to meet the needs of the crop are a valuable service I can provide.
• Crop quality management — Through ongoing comprehensive monitoring and regularly updated fertility, irrigation, and pest monitoring plan I will establish a set of best practices ti help improve your management strategies.  Using economically sound suggestions to improve quality and production I can improve your bottom line and help make your farming operation viable for the long term.
• Irrigation considerations — I can advise on water management, equipment decisions, and irrigation scheduling.  Soil probe monitoring can make irrigation timing much more scientific and efficient and real time plant water status readings can augment soil moisture readings.  Irrigation management is crucial to a successful crop and is an area of increasing concern for farmers and the general public.
